The IDOT Class 7 seed mixture is the Illinois Department of Transportation's designated Temporary Turf Cover Mixture.

Its sole purpose is to provide immediate, short-term ground cover for erosion control on disturbed soil. It is applied to stabilize a site quickly, either before a permanent seeding mixture is applied or when immediate stabilization is needed without the intent of establishing a long-term stand of turf.
